Family Potluck Iftar & CAPA Chaand Raat Held on Saturday

CAPA-Ohio held family potluck Iftar on the last day of fasting on Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Dublin Recreation Center. Aqil Khan and Shamim Aqil organized this successful event. Delicious Iftari was prepared by Shamim Aqil with variety of items to chose from.

About 69 families (approximately 150 in numbers) attended the event and shared the food with fellow families. Several non-Pakistani families also joined their Pakistani family friends.  Some families came from Dayton and other surrounding cities.  After Iftari and Maghrib prayer, all families celebrated Chaand Raat to mark end of Ramadan and start of Eidul Fitr celebrations with joy, peace and love for all. Delicious deserts were donated by the Masla BBQ restaurant which were enjoyed and well received by all. Other highlights of the event were, introduction & welcome of new families to Pakistani community of Central Ohio, door prizes for kids, mehndi decoration for female, youth and children and music in the separate area exclusively for females and children. The event lasted till mid night.

CAPA and Project Director Shamim Aqil thank all the participants for their support and participation in making it a successful event.
